Reykjavik Weightlifting Club was established in August 2012, or not long after CrossFit Reykjavik officially opened their doors at Skeifan, when the owners noticed a growing interest in Olympic weightlifting.

There are numerous benefits to be gained by practicing Olympic weightlifting. Every single lift requires strength, agility, speed, flexibility, coordination, balance, and accuracy – All of which are vital components of general fitness and wellbeing.
CrossFit Reykjavik offers courses in Olympic weightlifting which cover the fundamentals of the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk.
Each session lasts 60-90 minutes and is scheduled 2 evenings a week for 2 weeks, a total of 4 sessions. The rate is ISK 15.000 and you can register on our website. You do not need a membership to sign up.
CrossFit Reykjavik offers Olympic weightlifting training every Sunday at 12:30. This is to inspire and motivate you to maintain and improve your Snatch and Clean and Jerk technique. To be eligible for these sessions you must have completed an Olympic weightlifting course. Admittance is included in all general memberships.
